Sheet & Plate Size and Finish Options

Parameter Options
Thickness 0.3 mm – 150 mm
Width up to 2000 mm
Length cut-to-size with ±0.5 mm tolerance
Surface Finish 2B, BA, No.4 Brushed, HL, Mirror (No.8), Matte
Grades 304, 316L, 430, 904L, 2205 Duplex

Available in standard and custom sizes for precise fit. For cost-effective interior decoration, the 201 brushed stainless steel sheet in HL finish is a popular choice. Each order can be supported with inspection documentation and quality records for traceability.

Standard Sheet Sizes and Custom Cutting

The most referenced size in global procurement is the 4×8 ft sheet (1,219 × 2,438 mm), available in 304, 316, and 430 grades across thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 12 mm. Standard 4×8 sheets ship from stock. For non-standard dimensions and cut-to-length orders, we cut to your drawing with ±0.5 mm length tolerance to reduce fabrication waste. Minimum order quantities and lead times vary by grade and thickness — contact us for current stock availability and pricing.

How to Select the Right Stainless Steel Sheet Grade

Grade selection depends on four variables: corrosion environment, temperature range, fabrication method, and surface appearance requirement.

304 Stainless Steel Sheet — The industry standard for general-purpose use. FDA-compliant for food contact, weldable, and available in 2B, BA, brushed (No.4 / HL), and mirror finishes. Best suited for indoor architecture, food processing equipment, HVAC, and applications with no chloride exposure above ambient levels.

316 / 316L Stainless Steel Sheet — Molybdenum addition improves chloride and acid resistance. Specify 316 for marine structures, coastal cladding, chemical vessels, and medical devices. Specify 316L (low carbon) when post-weld corrosion resistance is required without post-weld heat treatment.

430 Stainless Steel Sheet — Ferritic, magnetic, and approximately 30% lower cost than 304. Suitable for indoor decorative applications, appliance panels, and environments with no chloride exposure. Not recommended for structural or outdoor use.

904L Stainless Steel Sheet — Super austenitic grade for aggressive acid environments including sulfuric and phosphoric acid. Used in chemical processing plants, FGD systems, and desalination equipment.

2205 Duplex Sheet — Twice the yield strength of 304 with superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Specified for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, offshore structural components, and storage tanks handling chloride-containing fluids.

Not sure which grade fits your environment and fabrication process? Send us your project conditions — corrosive media, operating temperature, and surface finish requirement — and we will recommend the appropriate grade with supporting material data.

Corrosion-Ready Sheet & Plate Solutions

We align sheet and plate selections to your fabrication workflow, exposure conditions, and appearance requirements.

  • Food Processing & Medical: FDA-compliant 304/316 sheets, antibacterial and easy to clean.

  • Chemical Storage: 904L/2205 duplex sheets resist strong acids without unexpected corrosion.

  • Architectural & Interior Design: Brushed or mirror finishes deliver modern aesthetics with long-term durability.

  • Marine & Offshore: Superior crevice corrosion resistance, ideal for cranes, port equipment, and ship components.

Applications for Corrosion-Resistant Sheet & Plate

  • Organic Acid Storage

10 mm sheets resist 10% acetic acid for over 10 years without perforation, ensuring long-term safety in chemical storage.

  • Marine Engineering

8 mm sheets provide crevice corrosion resistance exceeding 8,000 hours in seawater, making them ideal for offshore and port structures.

Material Traceability & Supply Assurance

  • Stable inventory through partnerships with POSCO and Tsingshan.

  • Fast delivery worldwide — supported by subsidiaries in Shanghai, Wuxi, and beyond.

  • On-site technical support and 24/7 service ensure your project stays on track.

FAQs

What's the difference between sheet and plate?
Sheets are typically supplied in thinner ranges for fabrication and appearance-sensitive parts, while plates are thicker and used for structural or heavy-duty equipment.
How do I select the right grade family?
Selection depends on corrosion exposure (chlorides/chemicals), temperature, fabrication method, and whether the surface is visible. Share your end-use and environment, and we’ll recommend suitable options.
Do you support cut-to-size orders?
Yes—cut-to-length and custom dimensions can be arranged based on thickness, tolerances, and packing requirements.
