304 Stainless Steel Angle Bar

Manufactured in accordance with GB/T 706-2016, equivalent to 06Cr19Ni10 austenitic stainless steel

It offers excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and weldability. Its chromium-nickel alloy composition (Cr 18–20%, Ni 8–10%) forms a passive film, making it suitable for construction structures, machinery manufacturing, and decorative engineering. Non-magnetic at room temperature, it can be strengthened by cold working.

  • Outstanding Corrosion Resistance

Excellent resistance in atmospheric, freshwater, and mild acid-alkali environments; ≥500 hours in salt spray testing without rust spots.

  • Balanced Strength and Toughness

Tensile strength ≥520 MPa, elongation ≥40%, capable of withstanding bending, stamping, and other forming processes.

  • Excellent Machinability and Weldability

Compatible with TIG and MIG welding processes; no preheating required; compatible with 304/316 stainless steel weldments.

Physical & Chemical Properties
Physical Properties
  • Density: 7.93 g/cm³ (same as 304 plate, convenient for structural weight calculations)
  • Melting Point: 1398–1454 °C, better high-temperature structural stability than carbon steel, suitable for ≤400 °C service
  • Thermal Conductivity: 16 W/(m·K) at 20 °C, about one-third of carbon steel, suitable for heat insulation applications
  • Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: 17.2×10⁻⁶/°C (0–100 °C), close to concrete for good thermal stress compatibility during assembly
Mechanical Properties (Annealed):
Property Value Reference Standards
Tensile Strength ≥520 MPa GB/T 1220-2007
Yield Strength ≥205 MPa GB/T 1220-2007
Elongation  ≥40% GB/T 1220-2007
Hardness (HB) ≤187 GB/T 231.1-2009
Chemical Properties:
  • Corrosion Resistance: Excellent in atmospheric, freshwater, and food-grade media (e.g., citric acid solution); ≥500 hours in salt spray testing without rust spots
  • Intergranular Corrosion Resistance: With C ≤0.07%, low risk under normal service; during welding, control heat input ≤15 kJ/cm and avoid prolonged exposure to sensitization range (450–850 °C)

Additional Information

Heat Treatment Recommendation

Solution Treatment: 1010–1150 °C, hold for 30 min, then water quench to relieve processing stress and restore intergranular corrosion resistance

Welding Guidelines

  • Recommended TIG welding with ER308L wire (φ2.0–3.2 mm)
  • Welding current: 100–150 A, interpass temperature ≤150 °C
  • Pre-weld cleaning: Remove oil and rust
  • Post-weld: Pickle & passivate (20% HNO₃ + 5% HF solution, 15 min immersion)

Stock & Delivery

  • Regular sizes (50×50×5 mm, 100×100×8 mm): ≥50 tons in stock, dispatch within 24 hours
