316Ti Stainless Steel Plate

Walmay 316Ti stainless steel plate is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel developed from 316 by adding 5×C%–0.70% titanium.

It is available in both cold-rolled and hot-rolled forms, with standard surface finishes of 2B and NO.1, and optional 8K/10K mirror polishing. Engineered for high-temperature and strong corrosion environments.

  • Superior High-Temperature Intergranular Corrosion Resistance

Walmay testing confirms no intergranular corrosion after 650℃ sensitization, making it ideal for welded structures exposed to heat.

  • Enhanced Corrosion Resistance with Molybdenum

Retains 316's 2.0–3.0% Mo content, achieving ≥1000h in 3.5% NaCl salt spray tests without rust spots.

  • Precision Customization

Thickness tolerance ±0.02mm (cold-rolled), flatness ≤1.2mm/m, standard lead time 7–10 days for most specifications.

Product Applications

  • Nuclear Power Equipment

    Specification: 8mm × 1500 × 6000mm

Case: Used in reactor cooling pipe covers. Hot-rolled NO.1 surface withstood 800℃ and boric acid corrosion. Walmay provided SGS third-party certification.

  • Chemical Reactors

    Specification: 5mm × 1219 × 2440mm

Case: Applied to styrene reaction vessel walls. 2B surface showed no intergranular corrosion after welding, doubling lifespan compared to standard 316.

  • High-Temperature Furnaces

    Specification: 10mm × 2000 × 6000mm

Case: Used in annealing furnace linings. Hot-rolled plate resisted oxidation at 850℃; Walmay completed laser cutting per drawings within 15 days.

  • Marine Engineering

    Specification: 6mm × 1500 × 6000mm

Case: Deep-sea drilling platform heat exchangers used passivated 2B plates, maintaining rust-free performance for 5 years in seawater.

FAQs

How does 316Ti differ from standard 316 stainless steel?
316Ti adds titanium for carbide stabilization, improving resistance to intergranular corrosion and oxidation at high temperatures.
Is 316Ti suitable for welding applications?
Yes. Titanium prevents chromium carbide precipitation, ensuring strong welds and excellent corrosion resistance in heat-affected zones.
What is the recommended environment for 316Ti use?
It performs best in high-temperature or corrosive environments, such as reactors, furnaces, and seawater systems.
Can 316Ti plates be mirror-polished?
Yes. Walmay offers 8K and 10K mirror finishes with a 7-day processing period for pre-orders.
What certifications can Walmay provide for 316Ti plates?
We offer SGS or third-party inspection reports upon request, ensuring compliance with ASTM A240 and GB/T standards.
