316Ti Stainless Steel Pipe

316Ti stainless steel pipe is a stabilized austenitic stainless steel pipe based on 316 stainless steel, with titanium (Ti) added in the range of 5×C%–0.70%.

316Ti retains the high molybdenum corrosion resistance of 316 while offering superior stability for high-temperature welding and harsh chemical environments.

  • High-temperature intergranular corrosion resistance

Titanium stabilization prevents carbide precipitation. After sensitization at 650°C, no intergranular cracking occurs per GB/T 4334.5-2015, making it suitable for severe service conditions.

  • Enhanced molybdenum corrosion protection

With 2.0–3.0% Mo content, 316Ti offers outstanding pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. In a 3.5% NaCl salt spray test, it shows no rust for ≥1000 hours.

  • Walmay precision quality control & customization

Each pipe is individually hydrotested at 1.6 MPa for 30 minutes and eddy-current tested per ASTM E2435, ensuring full compliance and traceability.

FAQs

What is 316Ti stainless steel pipe?
316Ti is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel based on 316, offering excellent corrosion and high-temperature resistance up to 850°C.
How does 316Ti differ from 316 stainless steel?
316Ti contains titanium (Ti 5×C%–0.70%) to prevent carbide precipitation, improving intergranular corrosion resistance after welding or long-term high-temperature exposure.
Is 316Ti stainless steel suitable for welding?
Yes. Titanium stabilization allows 316Ti pipes to be welded without post-weld heat treatment, maintaining corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone.
Where are 316Ti stainless steel pipes used?
They are used in chemical plants, marine systems, high-temperature furnaces, and nuclear equipment where both heat and corrosion resistance are required.
What surface finishes are available for 316Ti pipes?
Walmay offers pickled, passivated, and polished (No.4/HL) surfaces. Passivated finish withstands 1200-hour salt spray, ideal for marine and humid environments.
